“Most Cases Of Domestic Violence Are Never Reported To

â€Å"Most cases of domestic violence are never reported to the police (â€Å"Abuse Statistics†).† Most people do not report abuse because many believe that abuse is normal in most types of relationships, and bystanders do not always realize that they are being abused. It is difficult to identify the signs of abuse. There could be so many thoughts that can go into a victim s mind while they continue to stay in the cycle of abuse. Recognizing abuse is like finding a needle in a haystack, there are many types of abuse, however, children, adolescents and adults require different treatment depending on the type of abuse. Types of Abuse â€Å"Abuse is a pattern of behavior used to gain and maintain power and control, and it can come in many forms (â€Å"Is This†¦show more content†¦There are so many negative effects after being sexually assaulted. Many victims after being sexually abuse have mental health effects due to being assaulted. â€Å"Some who have suffered from trauma are energized initially by the event to help them with the challenge of coping, only to later become discouraged or depressed. (Recognizing Sexual Abuse)† The victims are most likely to change their attitude. Most victims fall into a deep depression. Several victims do not report being sexually assaulted because many feel disgusted of what has occurred. They may blame themselves for what the abuser did to him/her. Most likely they may also feel remorse toward their person. Adults that were abused when they were a child may still have problems in their adult lives. Many that are sexually assaulted know their abuser, the abuser can be a relative and even an intimate partner. Being sexually abuse can happen to anyone, anyone can be sexually assaulted no matter the gender. There are many types of signs for each age group. Signs of sexual abuse can be, a burst of anger, depression, self-harm and nightmares at night Emotional Abuse Emotional abuse can be verbal abuse, insults, anything that could be hurtful without physical contact. Emotional abuse can happen to anyone, anyday. This type of abuse plays a big role to someone s emotions.
